Announcing our new Patron: Leo Docherty MP

We are truly delighted to announce that Leo Docherty, MP for Aldershot, has agreed to become CMPP's Honorary Patron.

As many will know, Leo was elected as the Constituency MP for Aldershot in 2017, since which time he has held a number of junior Ministerial roles: Leo is currently the Parliamentary Under-Secretary for Europe. He studied Swahili and Hindi at SOAS, University of London, before attending the Royal Military Academy Sandhurst. From 2001 to 2007, Leo served as an officer in the Scots Guards, seeing action in both Iraq and Afghanistan.

Leo understands well the purpose of CMPP, having taken a keen and active interest in the charity since coming to the area - indeed, one of his first duties as a dynamic local Member of Parliament was to open then participate in the Twilight Runway Challenge! In what will be an extraordinarily busy year for Leo, he has generously found time to take on this honorary role, which he describes as 'a privilege'.

Leo discusses the CMPP Social Impact Report 2023 with Simon

Simon Jarvis, our CEO, welcomed this step: 'I've come to know and respect Leo as a dedicated, hard-working constituency MP. I have absolutely no doubt that he will bring his positivity, together with his genuine commitment to improvement of communities in and around Aldershot and Rushmoor, to bear on this role.

He is passionate about everything he does, as are we. I look forward to working in close partnership with Leo for many years to come, helping to advance our primary aim of connecting business with the community.

What a brilliant advocate and ambassador for CMPP!'
