The sun shines brightly on Yateley Industries!

CMP Members continued the investment into Yateley Industries - a contribution which has over the years brought many significant improvements to this extraordinary place - at our annual spring corporate volunteering event.

Yateley Industries, founded in 1937 by the redoubtable Jessie Brown, provides supported care for disabled adult residents alongside meaningful employment and training in the on-site workshop/factory.

Recently, CEO Sheldon McMullan has fought - and won - a high-profile media campaign to ensure that his organisation receives the funding from the Department for Work and Pensions to which it is entitled. Having survived what he described as 'an existential threat', Sheldon was thrilled at the day's endeavours by our intrepid volunteers:

'We are so pleased to welcome back our dear friends from CMP.

I can’t believe everything you have achieved for us today: it is incredible and after a tough couple of months it just brings so much happiness to the site, we can’t thank CMP and the volunteers enough. You have spring cleaned, tidied, and transformed our site, all ready for the summer.

Thanks so much for giving up your time today - it means so much more than you know.'

Fourteen different CMP Members were represented on this gorgeous spring day, with 65 individuals getting stuck in to the work with gusto:

360 Mortgages Amazon Filters Asahi Aviator Hotel Butt Miller

Energi People Farnborough Airport Herrington Carmichael Leapfrog Marketing

Porter Garland Shipton Wealth Management Siemens Healthineers

Source Supplies TecnaUK

For Energi People and Shipton Wealth, both of which having only recently joined the Partnership, this was the first experience of a CMP volunteering day. So, Newbies, how was it?

First Jess Dade and Richard Brock from Energi People: 'We’ve all really enjoyed the day, it's been unreal and so nice to give back, we’ve had lots of fun and work banter too.

As a company we have been so keen to get involved and give back and we can’t wait to do more!'

And from Shipton Wealth, Jenny O’Dwyer and Jessica Nascimento: 'This was our first ever corporate volunteering day and it was really lovely giving back to the community. Meeting some of the people that we are supporting from Yateley Industries was also lovely and they seemed so grateful for us helping.

Just nice to know we have given back and we would love to do some more! '

Well, funnily enough, that's precisely what we hoped you'd say! Coming up, there are lots more opportunities to give back to communities from now until Christmas. See our calendar of volunteering events on the website for full details of what, where and how to get involved
