We are delighted to announce that The Army Football Association will formally partner with CMPP by becoming full Members as of January 2024.
Historically, links between the Army in Aldershot and CMPP have been very strong, particularly with the Garrison. This partnership with Army Football marks a new but very exciting development of that long-standing relationship as Army FA CEO, Graham Brookland, explains: 'The Army Football Association are delighted to form a partnership with CMPP for 2024. The agreement will provide us the opportunity to work closely on a variety of initiatives and also be able to focus on community engagement and corporate responsibility in the Rushmoor area.
I am a strong believer of supporting the local community. Army Football provides soldiers with the opportunity to be involved in the game as a player, referee, coach or administrator throughout the United Kingdom; last season 10,000 soldiers were involved in The Soldiers’ Game in one capacity or another.
Our heritage is rooted in the Aldershot area where we are based and our Military Stadium has been the home of Army Football for over 100 years. As an organisation, we were formed in 1888. I believe it important to provide the opportunity for others to learn of the work that we undertake and the unique history we have too.
We are looking forward to developing this new partnership.'
CEO Simon Jarvis spoke warmly about the addition of our newest Member : 'I have absolutely no doubt that this is a significant moment for CMPP. Graham is a community man through and through - many will know of his massive contribution to the area, in particular to Aldershot and the football club.
Graham understands very well what CMPP is all about and has a clear vision of how the Army FA can both benefit and contribute dynamically over the coming year to our mutual advantage.
It's an exciting step for us, one which holds enormous promise. I'm really looking forward to working with Graham and his team to see how we can maximise this huge potential for the benefit of the community.
What a great start to the new year!'
