The contribution of CMP to the local community was recognised this week when the Charity received the award for 'Outstanding Community Group' in this year's Pride of Rushmoor Community Awards ceremony in Farnborough.
Before a distinguished audience of influential figures and key decision-makers from Rushmoor, former Mayor Mara Makunara, who conceived the idea for the Pride of Rushmoor Community Awards - now in its second year - presided over the evening.

The Award received is for an organisation which has made a lasting impact, demonstrating social responsibility, environmental initiative and community engagement. It also acknowledges the role CMP has played in fostering inclusivity and positive change in its work strengthening the local community.
Speaking after the presentation, Simon Jarvis said:
'It's an honour to pick up this Award in the company of so many leading figures from across the Borough.
This recognition is well-deserved for the work CMP has been doing in the community over the past 16 years. In receiving it, we proudly stand on the shoulders of a giant - our founder Tracy Jarvis, whose vision and tenacity turned the idea of CMP into reality, working independently when she established it in 2009.
Since that time, we have relied on many far-sighted business leader, those who have understood the value of the CMP vision and embraced the notion that community is everybody’s business.
The Award also recognises the contribution of Trustees, those wise counsellors - volunteers all - whose invaluable contribution is largely invisible. They work almost thanklessly (until now!) behind the scenes to ensure the ship keeps afloat.

None of our activities could happen without my CMP colleagues - Rachel, Paul, Alison, Cheryl and Hannah - who make the magic happen throughout the year. They are truly selfless, dedicated and incredibly hard-working.
And of course the Award if for the hundreds of committed volunteers who respond so enthusiastically to the opportunities we create, year on year. These superstars take up volunteering challenges, help raise the funds on which we depend and participate in our events: thank you all.
At times, it might feel like the contributions of our incredible supporters are small, even insignificant, in the grand scheme of things. But remember, not everyone can invent the airplane, cure cancer, or run a marathon in under two hours – yet we all have the power to perform small acts of kindness that truly make the world a better place!
This Award is for all of you.'
