Today we caught up with Susie Porter, Manager of The Vine Day Centre to hear about what's been happening with them over the past few months and how the move to their new premises is going...
The move to their new premises in Aldershot is imminent although they have yet to secure a date. They are finalising the last few bits and pieces and hope to be in their larger, more practical home by the middle of the summer!
A number of clients continue to benefit from working at Emily's Farm where they learn new skills in farming by sowing and picking crops and in return Emily's Inflight Catering provides fresh fruit & vegetables to The Vine for the clients meals each day.
Thanks to Farnborough College of Technology, two staff members at The Vine are well underway with their NVQ courses in Leadership and Heath and Social Care and are looking to compete their level 2 courses by the summer - this is a wonderful opportunity in building skills into this local charity and we wish them luck in completing and gaining their qualifications.
The Aviator have been working with a number of clients from The Vine to offer work placements with the opportunity of leading to paid employment. The Aviator are currently supporting two clients through work placements within their maintenance and house keeping departments.
